Combed
Combed Gesso is a unique finish we designed and have developed over the years. The combing can go across the whole frame profile or just sections of the frame or on inlays and can be applied to both flat and rounded frame profiles. Different combing patterns include straight, herringbone (also known as fishbone), starburst cornered, butted cornered, and mitred cornered. Though our combed gesso finish is most popular with our imitation metals and in a clean white gesso, almost any colour or gold leaf can be applied to our combed finish.
As well as combed frames, we also make combed gesso mounts.
