Painted

For the ultimate uninterrupted painted finish, we hand-gesso our frames and wipe them down to a perfectly smooth base layer. There are no limits to the colours we can use on our painted finishes; you can supply us with a RAL colour, send us a sample to match, or tell us the brand and colour that you would like us to use.

Once the colour scheme is decided then the finish can be layered, dragged, stippled, stained, rubbed, distressed, aged, polished, waxed or whatever is required to create the desired effect.  A painted finish can also be combined with metal or gold leaf detailing if you’re looking to add extra interest.

Examples of painted finishes used in frame and mirror projects:

• - A small watercolour painting in our black-and-white Chequered frame. 
• - A watercolour in our Folkestone frame profile painted teal with a gold metal leaf bevel. 
• - A botanical print in our Hellingly profile that has been colour-washed in a sage green with a matching mount. 
  
• - A large bobbin mirror painted a rich shade of green. 
• - A small oil painting in a bespoke frame finished in a distressed black over red with a gold sight edge and painted slip.
